Re:help bad idle after head swap
it's prolly your timing, i don't think it would even start if the firing order was wrong, i made that mistake on a swap once and couldn't get the engine started for two days because i didn't figure out it was the wires check your timing before you start worrying about the head being warped and ----....

Re:help bad idle after head swap
Ive re did my timing three times seems to be spot on.Its really puzzling me ive got a feeling its the throttle body or warped manifold+gasket.Cause i put the manifold on when i had the vx head on and it idled wierd to then when i put the stock back on it was fine.I thought it was cause the port on the y1 manifold are alot bigger than the ports on the vx head and it wasnt sealing up but maybe i was wrong?.Im gona try new gasket then throttle body then valves.
Also im getting a ignition output cel? but im missing the spring from the dizzy cap to coil if that could be it?

Also, the firing order should be 1,3,4,2...if even one is wrong, it can idle weird. Also check your injector clips...make sure they're plugged in all the way. If one is loose, it may seem like it's a dead cylinder.
