Default Help, any one heard of adding a ground wire to

adding a ground wire to either the iac or the tps on 88-91 hondas for idling issues? my car sometimes goes down to 400 or lower idling and runs rough, been thru everthing else 4 times, thought i'd read somewhere about grounding the tps ground to the chassis(some groudn issue some of htem had?) would fix it. anyone konw of info on this? would like to get this fixed very soon.

I doubt it.

Try taking your idle adjust screw and turning it all the wayt close till your car dies or it is closed then back it out 2 turns. Do this after your car is fully warm and all acc is off. Fixed the problem for me

its not that easy. i've done everything to this car and nothing is working. the screw doesn't change ----. tried different iac motors, diff thottle bodies, different computerers, different map sensors, everything. doesn't matter if i'm running pm6 setup or the p28 with wiring adapter. can't get it to idle good for anything. it sometimes idles good then it will kick down to 3 or 400 and idle rough. when it does that it doesn't want to run good at any rpm. no codes though. please help!
btw its a 94 d16z6 in a 90 civic wagon.

If I fix it.. do I get a cookie?

ok your running a D16z6, I am assuming you kept the D16z6 intake manifold? using the factory D16z6 Throttle body? Well, 92+ and all B-series use secondary cold idle air control valves located directly underneith the throttle body. If this peice is not working correctly your idle will bounce and get all fucked up. Its not an electric unit, if you have another one, try it and see if it changes. Also, be sure to take your throttle body off and clean the ---- out of the idle air screw passage, because that should change the idle somewhat.

I'd give you a whole pack of cookies. yeah I tried adjusting that sucker, then I tried another throttle body alltogether from a known working one.(that peice came with it)it acts like its an electrical problem. sometimes it works fine, the only way to get it to idle up is to unplug the pvc valve, then it revs up and cuts, revs up and cuts. the only part of the problem thats there with the pm6 is the crappy idle, but when i run the p28 setup it feels like it yanks the timing back when its running like that. so sometimes it will pull good, and other times it hesitates and jerks, and then all of a sudden it will feel like a switch was thrown, and it will take off. I think it has a bad sensor connection or ground somewhere, but i've cleaned and checked all the connections I can think of. but it has the low idle/no idle adjust with either computer. lately I've just been driving my hf cause it runs right.
I need to get this fixed before I go nuts.
Oh yeah, I've also tried two other distributors, three computers, new oxygen sensors, different injectors, and just about every other sensor on the ride.

iac is cleaner than a whistle. tried two different ones of them also. I am sure I saw somewhere a tsb on running the tps or iac ground to the chassis, but can't seem to find it anywhere.

have you reset your ECU? worth a try...
if not could be a sticky pedal not returning back to the same position everytime throttle is applied.

I am also guessing wiring as well, especially if you have done a OBD conversion in your car.. something else is going on. I am sure the parts are fine, as far as a TSB or any type of ground update I honestly dont think so. I will ask a friend of mine later this week to double check.
