k guys got it all together and sprayed gasket w/ copper spray, adjusted valves, got everything in spec and its drawing to much power when im trying to start it... the groundwire starts to smoke .. the only thing i did different this time was adjust the valves... could adjusting the valves to tight make it hard to turn over?

no adjusting your valves didnt make your engine hard to turn over (directly). . Most likely i believe that you have made the compression higher in each cylinder, by adjusting the valves. Run a compression test. I bet that you will see you have a much better compression per cylinder, compared to the last time you checked it. My suggestion is to clean the corossion off the battery and terminal. Just get a good ground. and fire that motor up.

Also: if you do have higher compression, you might want to back off on timing. Seeing how that your car is boosted. higher cylinder compression means higer peak cylinder pressure. you might run into detonation. just a thought. :6

its a new battery and no corrosion... i cant even push start it ... it looks like fumes/smoke (strong gas smell) is comming from the back/underside of the intake manifold.. everything is hooked up... what coud be leaking?
