Default head milling/block decking

what are your thoughts on it ?

reason i ask is because i have a a6 head that i wanna use with my vitara built z6 block. a6 head with vitara pistons doesnt make so hot of a compression.

.030" off of the head, or .015" of the block and .015" of the head ? maybe more ?

i need some help.

I've seen .070" taken off the head, first milling indicator is at .039"

.039" would be fine. bringing my compression to 8.8:1 using the -6cc or 7.3:1 using the new found -15.3cc.

what happens to cam timing ? i read that for every .010-.012 taken off the head that it retards the cam timing 1*.

does the same apply to when decking the block ?

ill be sticking with the oem gasket and shaving the head or the block because im already getting everything machined.

my main concern now is the cam timing. anyone have any experience with this kind of stuff ?

I would just rock the thin headgasket, just because if your head/block ever warps it leaves you with more room to machine

the thinest one still isnt enough to make any real difference. plus i hear bad things about cometic hg.

sohc head are cheap and abundant especially the a6/b7 heads.
