of the leaking??/ Well the oil comes out/down right in front of the dizzy, then leaks down onto the motor stamp and some even in the tranny area. I dont blieve the head is warped. I was told that it only had 89k and it was pulled cause the car got rear ended. I dont have any pics because i took the head back off yesterday. Could it be possible that it was just a ---- headgasket?? Also, i did my best at cleaning the bock with a wire brush before i put the new head on, but some a6 hg ---- was still embedded when i put the new hg and head on. Then when i saw it leaked and took the head back off, all the embedded ---- was on the copper spray of the hg and the block was perfectly clean. It looked as if the car leaked in the front corner of where the head meets the block and even near the first exaust manifold port. I ordered a new hg and will be trying this again;/ any recommendations so i dont get this head leak again Thanks

i read the manual. And there is ways of checking the heads surface. But the way haynes shows it, isnt very exact. They just put a ruler over it basically. anyways, i made this post really to see others peoples thoughts on if it really may be warped, or poor installation?? everything was torqued down to specs and copper spray was used. I have searched on here and h-t, and this seems to be a popular spot to leak. I thought i would see what your opinions were.

Whiterice was right on, or if it is a vtec head then it could be leaking from the solenoid assembly. Check the gasket there.

The only place oil crosses the headgasket in a D is in the back between cylinder 2 and 3. If it was leaking there because of a dowel pin that was too tall 3 and 4 wouldn't have any compression. The motor would run like ----.

All the b-series guys say the same ----. There are plenty of other places oil can leak from on the passengter side of the engine than the headgasket.

and there is no oil or coolant mix, so does that mean it cannot even be a hg leak?
