Im about to go get a head gasket for a turboed crx with a d15b2 with a d16a6 head going on it. Is there anything I should look out for when I buy one. I figure the stock one from a auto parts store for the d16a6 head will be good right, but is there anything better? thanks

 

I belive the d16z6 head gasket works and its the best as far as d series gaskets are concerned.

 

dude just get a oem one from honda. Save yourself the trouble.

 

the z6 will give you a little bit higher compression ratio, i think +.2 from what you will be at.

 

just make sure you get a 92+ gasket (metal) the composite ones are weaker and harder to change if ever needed.

 

is there a 92+ metal d series head gasket that wont raise my compression ratio.

 

.2 wont make a difference at all

just get the z6 one.
the y8 is even thinner so dont get that one

 

draztik is soooo against a slight bump in cr....dude it doesnt matter....i say the metal z6/y8 headgaskets are your best stock choice...

 

I recommend the Mr. Gasket MLS (Multi Layered Steel Gasket) and get it for a D16z6, and its not to expensive. Also buy some Copper Sealer

 

get the HONDA replacement, ask for the UPDATED metal gasket. this will help against future gasket problems. cheap gaskets are just that, cheap.
