H22 EG civic mount issue
Ello all, Ive got a H22 going in an EG civic but theres a problem on the transmission mount. A bolt head is in the way of where the aftermarket mount wants to be :crook: Ive put a couple of pics below to help, if anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear from you. Theres a couple of pics below to help
I could weld a spacer on the back of the mount but then surely that would **** up axle alignment one side, the other solution is to notch the mount slightly or remove or grind the bolt head. Any advice is appreaciated

Re: H22 EG civic mount issue
Those are ebay mounts yeah, Im doing a H22 EG civic swap on a very tight budget.
Modifying the mount with a bench grinder/file seems the best option.
The car was an manual D15B2 which was imported from Ireland. I'll have a look in the prelude manual and see what the bolts purpose is, maybe I can replace it with some kind of pan head bolt and space the mount with washers and a combination of grinding.
How do the more expensive but simular mount kits get round the problem? I know hasport are a completely different design, are the ones I have a cheap copy of HCP mount? Or do the US trannys not have that bolt? All my engine/gearbox is UK spec but the mounts and axles were imported.

Re: H22 EG civic mount issue
These ebay mounts appear to have a little spacer on the underside. I could cut up some tube and weld it to the underside of the mount, does anyone think that would **** up axle alignment?

Its sad hcp went out of business I never had problems with there stuff. David at jdmshit is gone too he was the hcp dude. Hasport for the win.
I have never understood saying you dont have money to do a swap. Ok well for another 200-300 dollars you can have mounts that if there is ever a problem will get resolved. You can speak to the dude who designs/makes them. Plus your car wont shake like place racing mounts from 1998 making you curse your car.

I always heard great things about HCP. That's a damn shame.
Brian G was always super cool and shared tech and advice. I rock some old school welded aluminum HASport mounts with the orange inserts in my drag car.
