my 91 dx (bone stock) started misfiring the other day, so i swapped in a known good coil, no luck. wih either coil the car barely runs at idle and even misfires while cruising on the highway. plugs look ok wires are near new cap and rotor are new. just about every maintenence part was replaced back in march/april when i bought the car. no racing or any dumb ---- strictly to work and back which is all highway

even though the cluster wasnt showing a CEL i checked the eECU and got code 14, EACV. would that really cause the misfiring?? before this started happening the car ran like a champ, not a single issue. so i am kinda ruling that out.

my next step is to do comp check, and check if my t-belt skipped a tooth.


any other areas to look at ??

cyl 3/4 arent firing below 2000rpm spark is there but no combustion. def getting fuel as its a DPFI motor and cyl 1/2 have fuel.
i'm bout to throw some plugs in to see if thats the issue after i drink this heineken

the plugs and wires were replaced in mar/april and i only put ~3000mi since then.

if i dont have any luck with new plugs then i am going to snag the wires from the hatch and see how it works
