Default Ghetto Lowering

I have a hatch that is lowered with ebay springs and stock struts that are blown out. It is lowered like 3.5 inches all around. Its ghetto low. Well i need cheap struts because im straped for cash. Instead of getting aftermarket i was wondering if integra or newer civic struts would work on my 88 hatch? I figure that they will be stiffer since integras and the 95 civs weigh more than my hatch. Have any of you ghetto poor people done this before?

Peace

The fork structure is different on the civics newer than 4th gen. You will need the front fork also. It will change your ride height probably raise it. I think the back might bolt on but dont quote me on that.

nope, 88's have different rear lower control arms compared to 89-2000 civics. take a look and your rear struts mount with a ball type. take a look at anything newer and its a fork style mount. good news, you can swap on 89-91 civic/crx rear LCA for a direct bolt on and get the new style struts.

ok here is english

if you look for stock struts, they prolly wont handle 3.5 inch of lowering will they, that is added stress of already stressted struts, but like fast 90lx said if you look for small name struts, which i take he is talking aftermarket, they will be fine

Instead of swapping rear lcas, you can use struts off a Integra Type R, they would be way better, and bolt in. Trust me, it'll work. cheaper than buy lcas as well...

dude, i don't condone shitty suspension cause my car and myself are all about road raceing, but a set of drop zone struts will run you like $120-$150 on ebay and will suck less then ANY stock honda/acura ones.
