getting my timing right...

alright well 1 problem ive been worried about with my vitara setup before i put my turbo on is my ignition and cam timming...

I used a y8 block and head with a z6 crank with y8 cam and crank gears with a z6 belt and i cant get my cam timming perfect.. car runs great but its like a half a tooth off.. Is there something in this list of parts that isnt compatiable with another that is throwing it off??

Its also affecting my ignition timing badly.. I cant get the timming within stock spec at all.. Im probbaly around 18 btdc with my dizzy all the way retarted...

May sound stupid... But when im tunning in crome does it really matter what my dizzy is at (timing wise) as long as my map says im ok??

For example... if i have my map in crome set at about 18 degrees at 7000 rpms and 10 psi will dizzy postion change that at all?? Or is it only going to rely on what the computer wants it to be??

Those fuckers at autozone don't know ----. When you go into a place like that you need to be prepared to educate them, not the other way. They want to sell whatever they can, even if it means returns and possible trips back to the store.

the computer would have to be wrong then because i watched them as they checked between the 2 years and it kept comming up with the same part number..

So does anyone know if they are the same belt or what?

honda shows different part numbers for each.

Don't ever, ever go into any auto parts store and ask them for a part without you knowing the exact part number you need.

Don't answer their stupid questions pertaining to your car, just tell them the part number and that's all you want.
