getting crank pulley off

any other methods besides an impact wrench? i have a d15b8 and im doing a mini me...the crank pulley will not come off. the crank pulley doesnt have the hexagonal shape so the typical honda crank pulley tools wont work. ive strapped a chain/strap wrench and no luck..any other methods? any helps is appreciated

Like he said. Pull a plug, fill the cylinder with a bunch of small rope turn it over untill the rope compresses and you wil be able to bust the bolt loose.

Yeah I am really confused that people can't get this simple technique to work. I have done it a couple times. I used a 5ft piece of pipe over the breaker bar a few times.

put the car in 5th gear and get your mate to put the brakes on, put steering all the way left.
now get a 17mm socket on a long extension bar and undo the bolt holding the crank pulley on.

it can sometimes help to wiggle the pulley as you pull it off, yes it can be a bitch, but it will come off,

dont lose the woodruff key

if the motor is out of the car gl. if its in the car gl. rope method works. as does 5 gear or 4th for you hardcore std rockers as i. ive never done it with the motor in the car, although it was a bitch swapping the crank pulley when i had to.

Locking the flywheel works good, or I've put a couple long 17mm bolts in the tranny side of the crank, put a breaker par in that and then used another breaker on the pulley side. That was before I got a bigger air compressor and 3/4" drive impact gun. Haven't ran across a crank pulley bolt yet that it won't bust loose. :6

the rope method works but a nice ingersoll and rand impact will break that bitch loose like nothing.

Jesus christ, driving down the road today I heard a loud bang, and then the battery light poped on, I shut the engine off and parked the car. Looked back in the road and my godamn crank pulley was laying in the middle of the road, the bolt was a few feet away. Must not have torqued it enough last time son of a bitch that pissed me off.

You must not have reached the propper impact wrench torque. It was supposed to be 4 ratts and 6 tats
