To gaurd the block or not?
First, the build: Turbo Tuned b18c1
I need to know about block gaurds. I've heard good things and bad things. I would like to know yea or nea. and why. Thanks! ZumCRX1 |
Re: To gaurd the block or not?
In reality there not worth it. They need to be welded in for any chance of them being worth while then block decked etc. Its not just buying the guard. Find someone who tunes turbo hondas all day long and you wont have an issue with your typical street build 300 hp range.

Not needed, lo0k at my friends vitara build. Stock sleeves 450+hp. You should be fine with the B.

pour molten aluminum into your water jackets, and done

Re: To gaurd the block or not?
Stock sleeves are strong, just don't denotate them. If you do a block block it isn't going to help at all. I've seen more issues due to block guards than they prevent.
i've had stock sleeves over 30lbs w/o any issues. Just make sure to find a tuner who knows what hes doing, and you'll be fine. |
Re: To gaurd the block or not?
Stock sleeves or if you want peace of mind Golden Eagle will sleeve your block.
