wtf are we psychic? I thought you meant you went out one morning and the car didn't start so something failed, not that you changed the engine harness and the fuel pump won't work.

sorry its ben a few since i could get to the car. takin over the family bidness that is 2 months behind on rent is hell.blah.

anyhow.

car is a 96 civic dx. had a d16 in it and i swapped in a ls. didnt have a obd2 dizzy to begin with so i just rewired wat i had. car would start and just idle and wouldnt rev past 5k. thought it was a checksum so i reburned numeros chips to make sure it wasnt. still no run anygood. so i was like i know my harness is hacked up prety good so i will just save cash and buy a new harness for a dx since i dont need vtec and buy a obd2 ls dizzy to finnish it off. 3 months later everything is bought and i get around to installing it all. put in new harness and dizzy put in some obd2 injectors. i havve a few plugs left unplugged but i have nothing else to plug them into. so then car wouldnt even start. wtf. turns out i grounded the starter power wire to the frame. undo that and hook it to battery then car cranks and runs for like 3 seconds and cuts off. hmm yay i thought. try to restart car but it only turns over. hmm then o think did i here the fuel pump prime. nope i didnt. so from here i am lost.

i do know the main relay is good the ecu is good. and htere are no blown fuses that i know of. i have checked every one that i can find. lol. i do know the fuel pump worrked 3 months ago.

i dont know wat it is. i have tried 2 ecus that i know are good and 3 main relays htat i know are good. i think im just gonna run a wire to the fuel pump to a accessory and see if it primes.

fixin to look thru the manual on my laptop also.

either that or the pump. and at least it not an EF or DA its a 96 so you dont have to drop the tank. so your problem should have been solved a while ago

yea some one said main relay like 30 times. its not the main relay. i got one of my friends car that we know works because he tried it on his car then gave it to me. ihate electrical ----.

wat i did to fix it for the time being was run a wire from an accessory to the fuel pump but that didnt help to much becasue now i get 58 lbs of pressure and hte car runs rich as ---- and wont rev.

if yall seriously think its the mail relay some one mail me one they know is good i will pay shipping and mail it back when i get done with it or if it does fis the problem i will pay u. but really wtf is up with the damn thing. the fuel pump worked fine with the old harness.

It's pretty simple man, everyone says main relay cause that's what controls the fuel pump. If your main relay works in another car, and your fuel pump works with a jumper, then that leaves the wiring to the main relay, fuses, or maybe your ecu as the culprit. Usually people forget a ground when they swap ---- like harnesses or engines etc.

I downloaded a manual and it has a step by step procedure to diagnose the wiring, grounds, and fuses. Do the same and come back with what fails the test. I planned on typing it out but it's two pages and I'm behind on work today.

Jumpering straight to the fuel pump is a lazy hack for a probably simple fix.
