Sure you can take a screwdriver and use it like a stethoscope. Start the car and put the blade part of the screwdriver on the injector and put the handle up to your ear....if the injector is 'firing' normal, you will hear a distinctive click in the handle, if it is stuck open, you will not. Do this for each injector.

For the cam timing, they are talking about a valve adjustment. I had a problem a while ago after I did a valve adjustment-- the problem was that I wasn't careful enough when adjusting them. Look it up in a manual---the intake valves should all be the same and the exhaust valves all the same, pretty much exactly, within the spec's given. If they are off it will be opening different valves sooner and mess with your vaccuum, and make your car run shitty because they are opening before or after they should be. You just have to take your time and be careful, check and recheck the clearances because they tend to change a little after you tighten them back down. And check your injectors like mentioned above

i looked it up in the manual a long time ago while i was trying to do it and it confused me... basicly what i need to know is where to measure from...

in between the rocker and the lobe or somewhere else?

yes in between the rocker and the lobe.
you have to rotate the crank to tdc for each pair of valves and so on.
you would hear loud ticking noise all the time if it was really bad.

but I really dont think this is your problem...I think its vacuum or timing related.

i know it at least needs one sooner or later, the machine shop said they messed with the valves while they were testing the head, i'll mess with it tomorrow and see what happens if i can, its just hard to get the feeler gauges down in there

valve lash and cam timing are two different thing's , maybe it lean out becouse your running a stock map, if you dont run check valves or anything the car will sputter out and run lean

check valves arent needed with a chipped ECU from my understanding and i havent taken any valves off of my map sensor since the motor blew so im fairly certin thats not part of my problem.. if i remember right the stock map sensor can read upto 10psi of boost with a chipped ecu before it putts out

i need to adjust both valve lash and cam timeing anyway so i'll just do both next time i get to it

well its running again, i had it running OK but now im getting intermitent spark

when i used the timeing light to check my timeing it would only spark like once every ten seconds or so (maybe a bit exahgerated but not much)

im planning on takeing my dizzy back again since i still have a month free replacement on it

any other ideas why my spark is acting up like that?

do your injectors have a resistor box? is so, have you at any time messed with the resistor box? more importantly, have you taken off that backing plate it has or mounted it somewhere else?\

that backing plate acts as a ground and as a heat transfer device. next time you turn on your car, check the resistor box(if you have one). if its really hot, it probably isnt grounding correctly.

This happend to me when i was doing a wire tuck. I had moved the box to somewhere else and it wasnt grounded. well, i turn on the car and it ------- runs like complete ----. it was uber rich too.

i duno, just another idea that might be causing your issue.
