Factory pan modification question
Anyone ever made a kick out on a stock aluminum oil pan
example such as a H22!
Here is why I ask, I seen a caddy oil pan modified tonight and the guy posted it on craigs list as I was there, before I left the pan sold for $400. I was like WTF, its a stock pan, that had been extended"deepened" and kicked out to the side....... So it got me thinking" It's sunday and Indiana doesnt sell alcohol" I have a oem H22 aluminum oil pan and I want to have more fluids"oil, not water U.I" in the pan for the safe sake of it, and the machinist who's house I was at said we can do it easily with aluminum plating, as long as I get the materials. So is it a good idea to modify a stock pan and the cheap? I also have a steel one too that I can try on and see if it works out before dicking over the aluminum one.
PICTURES WITH HONDA EXAMPLES would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Factory pan modification question
---- the H22 cast aluminum K'esqe fail pan... Roll the steel (no to mention if you HIT something with it it wont break nearly as easy... Definately wont shatter)
Were doing a lil something to my pan as we speak. BUT its steel, not that gay cast aluminum A4 ----.
Gas tank too....
Ill post pics when all is done done....
Got another CD5 tank and flushed it outr last night to cut6 oprn for mock up....

i can't imagine the pan sits that low, but i know some muscle car guys have issues with ground clearance.

Re: Factory pan modification question
Ground clearance isnt that bad in a engine bay designed for a H22, but now if you put the H22 in a civic "like I have" with a 3inDP I have around 3-4inches ground clearance with a stock pan, but what I was wondering is if I could chop maybe 2 inches of pan "length" and give it more girth and modify the oil pickup? Just seein people with H22's in civics and busting oil pans, not something I want to experience, thats why my ride is mostly on the Interstates/HWY's rarely in parking lots because of speed bumps.
But thanks Mike I appreciate your outlook on it
