has anyone installed a f22a in a 92 civic? if so what is needed?

actually the only f22 engine thats vtec is the f22b1 with 145hp @ 147lbs of tq.....and its sohc....forget that motor...not worth it for the cost...get a nice b16 or a gsr or a I.T.R. motor...much better for the price

your dumb there are plenty of vtec f series motors, one of the better ones is the F22B from accord SIR-T "bluetop" 200ps@7600rpm.

F series would be pointless to put in a EF/EG/EK or any of the integras.. why? well first off, it simply does not just bolt in, B-series is a way better platform. Even if I had a F series motor for free I still wouldnt install it. Its bulky and has a long stroke does nothing for me.

For accord owners, I wouldnt even be messing with them, H-series all the way. (honda big block baby)

I don't understand why so many people are wanting to install H-Series into D or B series platforms. First off yeah the SIR-T blue top would be nice but do you really think you could get a hold of one and IF you could do you really think you would want to pay for it? Its a rare motor and for 200 Hp I would rather buy a b18c5. First off it would be alot cheaper, second it would drop in ALOT easier than a H or F series in a EF/EG/Ek platform, 3rd it would be alot easier to work on. ---- you wanna do all of that wiring? ---- no no one does when they know the simplicity lays in a B series. 4th I would still have my steering okay while yours would be shot. 5th I will spend 1 hour doing a timing belt and water pump in my car while it takes you 2 days because you had to pull the motor. Now I am not implying that you would rather buy a H or F series over a B series but you shouldn't have given him ideas lol.

the SiR-T engine is an F20B (DOHC Vtec) and is pretty much identical to an H22 (makes same power, around same torque, main difference that you can actually feel or see is that the engine revs a TAD higher, and of course is a 2.0 instead of a 2.2). and the F20B isn't all that hard to find anymore, matter of fact there are a few from respectable company's on EBay for around 1300

I've seen a guy put an F22Ax in an EF hatch before, he claimed that it ran with his H22'd CB7 (4th gen accord) its not really that bad of an idea to tell you the truth.

Pros:
F Series are CHEAP (I have three complete engines right now)
Boost Friendly
Will use same mounts as an H22 would
more torque than a D or B series

Cons:
They're big, so might be hard to cram in a civic (but so is any H series)

i wouldnt put one in a civic either simple because there are better options imo.

but no way in hell would i put a h series in my car when i have a perfectly good f22 already in there....unless you are looking for 500+hp. for the cost of an h22 you can easily have a boosted accord that will wipe its *** with any h22 w/ bolt ons, any were, any time. when it comes time for the ~350whp reliably stage, its a lot cheaper to build an f simply because you dont have to resleeve the block.

and while you are building it i would go with a h22 crank and rods with custom pistoms. that takes care of the rod/stroke thing.

i'd do it, its just like an H swap which is easy to me. n f series llike boost. so why not? a built f series turbo in a civic eg chassis would be fun.
