F20B-> DC2

Considering the fact i have been finding alot of F20B's online for $1500 or less, and the fact that thier specs kick the b18c's ass, I am debating on swapping one in my LS as my B18B is older than dirt with 198,xxx and im tired of going slow. I would assume that swapping one in wouldnt be any different that a H22...Still curious about intake manifold clearance on the fire wall. Plan on using my b-series tranny too....so H2B adapter obviously will be needed along with the drivers side teg-> H22 mount.......If any one had any input it would be greatly appreciated.....gathering parts and ---- now before ordering the motor

Re: F20B-> DC2

prices on the H2B kits are crazy.... Any links to running shifter cables for the H/F trannies?

Re: F20B-> DC2

Um ya buy accord/prelude linkage set up install its very easy. I did it without the interweb when i was a stoner and most likely drunk and getting laid by some underage -----.

Make sure to get everything best is to go to junkyard and pull everything including pins etc

Re: F20B-> DC2

how much? It will probably be January/Feb. by the time I have enough for the swap...so I would like to start getting the lil cheap random ---- that Im going to need now. I want one of your TB's too, chris, but that will be later down the road.

One thing I am concerned about is the fact that the F20B is OBDII. Only reason is because I haven't been able to find out if it has the goofy crank sensor like the OBDII H22's. I am gonna run it OBDI most likely on a chipped PR4 or P28 or what ever I find cheap to get chipped.

OBD1 h22 dizzy FTW.

Re: F20B-> DC2

Yup+h22 obd1 manifold with 2 wire iacv

Also f20b runs a single wire vtec solenoid has all obd2 jdm motors do. No pressure switch.

Okay so that solves the crank sensor lol... So as far as wiring goes this should be easy as ----, only differences being adding in the one wire for VTEC and finding an h22 i/m to avoid having to fool with that 3 wire ----. is that 40 shipped? i live cross country from you in florida.....32505

I import motors myself. From what I have googled is nightmares about that company

Re: F20B-> DC2

The motors we've swapped from them are absolutely horrible. The outside looks like ----, as do the internals.

The last h22 we received from them smelled like the oil had never been changed. The head was dark ------- brown and sludge was all over.

isnt that how motors are supposed to look like :1

Re: F20B-> DC2

Not sure what kind of motor you've been dealing with, but none of my motors have ever looked like that.

A properly maintained motor should have a light golden tint to it, not dark brown.

Re: F20B-> DC2

They suck has importers its obvious they get their motors from other parts of asia most likely China which would explain the high mileage beat up piles of ----. We had an importer in California like that K watannbe which went out of business 5+years ago. It was hit or miss

WE were getting 6 year old zc motors that had broken ringlands etc. They would allow you to get another motor free though but we ended up just going to an importer that actually tested their engines and charged more but peace of mind is key.

Re: F20B-> DC2

Well i guess that explains the price of 850 for a complete F20b. What would be your price on a f20b complete longblock? Im still picking up the shifter/cable assembly up from you-Im outta town for the weekend, but either Sunday or Monday I will go ahead and get the money out to you.

d112... I really dont have any plans as of yet for my B18b once its out. I guess sell it. its got almost 198xxx almost 199xxx on it....its only getting like 25-28 mpg. If you want it i guess I will sell....the transmission doesnt like to go in third as of recently. Im in Pensacola, Fl...when its out I'll let you know. I'll let it go for doodoo cheap

Guy-Fast 10-25-2008 07:09 PM

Re: F20B-> DC2
