Default ex trans versus dx trans

i got the 98 ex coupe with t3 super 60 .48 plans but again another question. trans question. i have the dx trans right now on my ride ....long story but is the dx trans i currently have worth building. yes less shiftin. 1st gear maxs at 45 and 2nd gear maxes at 85 and 3rd ? never pushed it that far. lol but again the acceleration is so slow until i hit vtec which still really isnt all that strong. so my question is to build the dx trans when i get my turbo setup on or buy a ex trans and build that up. the reason is i found a y8 trans for 200 and its seems good so far so what do u all think? dx or ex. ex gears are nice but may have traction problems later down the road and the dx gears are very long which takes it toll. thanks

EX tranny is a night and day difference. I would highly recommend the swap. I did and am very pleased with the difference.

i love people posting the same questions that i have . i have had a Y8 tranny sitting in my garage for about a month while i was trying to figure if it is worth the swap.

Found this a while ago. Not sure how exactly perfect it is but you get the idea.

do you personally think its easer to take out the engine to get to the trann, or take it out with the engine still intact?

Did my swap together.

If you are going to be dropping the motor anytime soon, just make them the same install, mankes it easier.

Otherwise, just drop the trans and leave the motor in tehre.
