Default ew4 or d15

Yo a friend of mine just got a og crx si 87. unfortunately we dont know what engine it is it is multi point sohc and i was wondering if a 90 d series si tranny will bolt up to it., he says that the tranny in it now is having trouble engaging 1st, 3rd, and 5th. after a search it said that some of the si came with either a ew4 or a d15a3? need some help.

it won't work. if it bolts up, the transmission mount will not line up.

either rebuild it or find an 86-87 integra and upgrade.
