been babying my car for the past few months. decided to give it a rip earier. redlined 1st, slammed 2nd, shifted to third then 5th. and noticed my check engine light came on. and my speedo set back to zero. pull over at the next gas station. pop the hood, nothing sounds different. turn the car off. let it cool. turn it back on and everythings back to normal.

any ideas?

how about you check the code?

 

its not throwing any codes. like i said. the speedometer quit working and the check engine light came on. pulled over. turned car off, then started it again. and the speedo started working again and the engine light wasnt on any more.

im just wondering if this was a fluke event or if it does mean something

 

VSS connection at the tranny is dirty, clean it.

 

will do. not sure which one is for the vss. no time to look right now. bout to go to work. i saw a plug under the dist. cap. is that one it? sorry. did a search on vss and didnt really tell me where it is
