EG Engine Harness Swapablilities,
Example...
94 Civic DX Chasis
putting in 92-95 CX D15b8 w/ engine harness
Now I was looking at the plugs, and they look the same, but none of the wires match up on the plugs. On 88-91 crx's SI's/HF's you cannot swap the harnesses because they are pinned different. Is this the case as well in newer EG's?
anyone shed some light... I'm old school baby, EF4life

Re:EG Engine Harness Swapablilities,
My DX chassis harness has a lot more wires than the engine harness. Many wires/pins do no match.
I would only see a problem using a lower end model's engine wiring harness on a higher model chassis. Lack of wires/plugs for the accessories.
I will scan the EG wiring diagrams for you (and make sure they are legible). All of the classes use the same wiring color codes.
Hopefully this will help towards some type of solution.

Re:EG Engine Harness Swapablilities,
OBD 1
Harnesses are slightly diffrent and the cx(due to the 7 wire o2) will not work for a dx or si or ex or VTEC. The dx,si,ex, and VTEC (del sol shares the same engine harness as the civics but has a knock sensor for the VTEC) are the same but the CX has the 7 wire O2 sensor that screws it up prety good, so all the color codes are off and will not match very well. If you want me to break down the entire pin color code/ pin setup i can but its going to take a hell of alot of time.
OBD2
The D16Y7 harness is completely diffrent from the SOHC VTEC and DOHC VTEC harnesses. The y7 has the auto IACV deal and no knock sensor adn there are 2 o2's in the front of the motor (for the front mount cat) and the others have the 2 o2 sensors one before the cat that is wired in with the engine harness and the other that is after the cat and routed to the internal with the dash harness throught a plug by the the shifter hole.

Re:EG Engine Harness Swapablilities,
the obd1 cars dx,si,ex,sol dohc vtec all have a 4 wire "heated" o2 sensor. while the cx,vx have the 1 wire "non heated" o2 sensor with grounds to diff areas and extra wires going to an egr sensor that the others dont have. thats where the 7 wires total.
