Does the axle mount flush to the tranny or is there a small gap?

I got one side in with just a small gap

do you have the tranny in the dowel pins? Once you get used to it swaping the transmission only takes a few hours if that. WE got a clutch in my dads eg in about 45 minnutes.

Im an idiot. clutch wasnt disengaging. Rawr came over, and pointed out that i was using the master cylinder resevoir to bleed insteard of the slave cylinder. Lol, i suck. Rawr and i got it to engage. During a test drivethe drivers side axle was making a clickign sound, so i thought the axle wasn't in right. I checked it out this afternoon and it was the flywheel cover rubbing against the axle. So i removed it and the noise went away. I bled the lines out some more to get better disengagement, and all is good. Could prolly use some more bleeding, but that will wait for a couple more days. Frankly im sick of workng on my car, but the results are so sweet. I heart my new clutch. it feels like a completely different car

Seems like you made this way harder than it had to be. I pulled my tranny in my EK last week in a hour twenty minutes by myself, that includes me putting it on the lift, removing the tranny, pressure plate and flywheel. Reinstall took me about 2 hours with a friends help. I've also done this too many times to count and have it down to a science.
