Default Is it easy?????

Is it a better choice to run a b20 turbo in my CRX rather than a B16 turbo??
I have a b16 in it now and wonder if i could just get a b20 long block a use my b16 tranny
or would i have to get a new harness and computer or tranny??

The cars a 91 crx
B16a OBD0
Its a cable tranny

Iunno its on a whim.....
The torque is wayyy higher and the compression is safer
Figured it would be a better investment than to turbo my B16

I'd say stick with the B16. B20's have thin sleeves which are not boost friendly. The C/R may be higher in a B16, but if tuned properly, I'd say it'd be safer than a B20 at the same HP levels. B20's however make nice N/A builds, but N/A is for suckers.

Yeah thanks for the info...I was thinkin of buying a b20 block from a friend for 200 and then throwing my b16 head on it....
But if a B16 can hold a good 7-10 psi on stock internals....with some fuel management ill be good.

if you swap a b16 out for a b20 only to boost; i'll find out where you live and kick you in the *******. Not only is the b20 a piece of ---- on the bottom end, the compression ratio of the b16 shouldn't scare you away. It's not that high and just be a nog and stay away from FMUs and get real tuning. Plus does it really matter that the b20 makes a little more torque? The b16 will let you wind the crank out of it, plus it's already in your car.Turbo, tune and call it a day.

Ok....would "real" tuning be..getting some 450 dsm's.....a Pr3 or Pwo already "burned" or tuned....
and a fuel pressure regulator...with umm some other odds and ends...iunno how to do this ----...I dont really wanna go big on it...just the basic ---- i need to run about 7-10 psi...other than the turbo kit....

they don't have turbos dangling off them unless they're sleeved and built. B20 vtec is alright, lots of people swear by it, but most everyone agrees that boosting a stock bottom end b20 is a bad idea because of the cylinder sleeve construction.
