Default DOHC ZC- OBD0 to OBD1 conv.

OK here is the Deal. A friend of mine is buying my ZC block. We are rebuilding it and the plan is to stick it in his EG coupe to replace his tired Non VTEC D15. After getting the ZC back together, the plan is to replace all OBD0 senors with the OBD1 sensors, provided to ohm out to spec. Using his D15's OBD-1 harness, I dont see any problem coming up, as long as there are no missing sensors between the ZC and the D15.

Only real problem I see us having is a distributor issue. Either we need to find a OBD1 ZC Dizzy, or find a way to use the D15's dizzy. It should work the same as putting a A6 dizzy on a DOHC ZC head, eliminating the external CPS. Modifying the brake will solve that problem. Dont have a head yet, so thats not definite.

This is a budget build, trying to use as much stock parts as possible. This is pretty much the plan, If any of you know for a fact something that will or wont work, please speak up. Any and all info is apreciated.
Thanks

A6 dizzy i dont think fits the ZC head. Its different. YOu need a ZC dizzy. As far as the d15 OBD1 dizzy you soeak of, try and see if it fits. If it does then the cam angle sensor should be in the dizzy and not the exhaist cam.

There are obd1 dohc zc's out there...you just have to find them. I know of a few cali shops that constantly get them in. I actually had one in my eg a few years ago. Ehh...nothing fantastic but cool. I also got the rare 5spd ecu for it too...also with the stamp p29. I'd say check around the engine shops for late model zcs.

just use the d15 dizzy on the ZC, you will only get 1 bolt in though. then get a b-series cam seal to put where the old cam sensor was.

all the sensors will work with obd1, just swap your d15 thermo housing onto the ZC and use that sensor for the fan switch

thanks again chris. Im having the EXACT same problem. Chris said just buy the obd1 dizzy and bolt it up. Only thing you have to do it t-off a vaccuum line for one of the sensors. Im doing a obd1 dohc zc in a 94 civic pretty soon, so keep me updated on what you do, ill help if i can. Talk to chris, he has done this before (LOL if he doesn't lock this thread like he did mine).
