Default DOHC ZC head design CHRIS/JD helllppp!!

ok well as most of you know i parted out my zc turbo a while ago but i have big plans in the works for a new more powerful build.. i have read stuff that larry from endyn has wrote on the zc and i have read over some stuff that javier from JG has said but i want to know real world point of views.. the only person i know that has alot of experiance with high power ZC's is liam but he isnt on all the time.. i want to know that since the ZC head has the biggest combustion chambers of any D seires heads what is the most power a basically stock ZC head can flow. i am talking mild portwork and some nice turbo cams.. if i can reach my power goals without sending a head off to larry or javier that would be great and i could spend that money elsewhere.. i know of single cam vtec's throwing down over 400whp with basically stock heads if not completely stock.. any insight is greatly appreciated as always

im running the same kind of motor..well its a d16a1...almost the same. i bought turbo pistons from raceeng.com the wield a 9:1 comp ratio in zc/d16a1's. any other piston will be 8:1 or less. buy tuner toys rods..ON SALE NOW...to use bigger TB's, buy an obd1 dohc zc intake mani, and you can use any obd1-2 honda/acura TB.

basically i fully built my motor which is still sitting in my dads garage waiting to be put into the 87 crx. go to thezcr.com for group buys on different zc/d16a1 stuff. thats where i got my reground delta turbo cams and JG adj. gears for cheap as hell. redpepperracing.com and g1teg.org usually also have group buys on zc/d16a1 stuff, and have alot of insight about those motors.

hopefully i can get WELL OVER 200HP with the motor i built....free photo op for me:

anyways..on a good tune, and built internals, i dont see why we cant surpass the single cams

if stock ZC makes around 250hp+ ,i think you porting the ZC DOHC head can make that power. i have ZC DOHC (A9) .. i like that engine. i have a B16 in my job..think will boost my ZC

I was running my dohc D d16a1 ast 18psi on the mack turbo befor it went oil dry(long story)
at 18psi it was smoking the tires in 5th from a roll. built bottem stock head.

I think the head should be able to flow over the 500 range. Im hoping for 600+ once it goes back together, Im gonna run a stock head again because I dont have the money for the head aswell.

worst case senario is u run it stock head for a while and lay down some numbers, when u think u need more then you pop the head off in 45 min and send it out.

realy, after 400hp you shold be careinge more about traction then an extra 100hp

i threw my d16a1 together before and it ran high 12's in my crx with a slipping clutch..then the bearing spun cause of an oil leak i didnt think was as bas as it was. then i fully built my motor completely with a stage 3 clutch, internals, etc. and ...cant wait to take it to the track soon.

JG are nothing but thiefs!! A friend paid them 10k to build him a full B series swap and turbo kit. When he flew to clifornia to watch it dyno the motor blew up and instead JG gave him 2 built ZC motors. Now my friend dont know what to do with too fully built ZC motors that cost him 10k....BEWARE OF JG!!!!
