Default Does a vtec head really bump compression?

Ok well I've heard soo much of both ways so I finally want to set this straight. Does a vtec head on a non vtec sohc (mini me) raise compression or is this just a myth? And how much are we talking if it does indeed raise it?

Yes I've seen that around. (Fellow soler wrote it). But I never really understood it. Im too dislexic to use that calc. lol And yes I'm considering a z6 or y8 on my y7. And isnt the only difference in y7 and y8 the vtec head? So wouldnt it not change much

i think theres about a .4 diff between the two heads. y8 will raise it more.

If that is true would that really affect the ability and ease of tune? .4 seems measley to me if thats the case.
