Distributor Help
So I think I have a fucked Pickup in the distro which means i need to get one from the parts store. So I go to local import parts store and the little smug ---- head behind the counter tells me that my car has 5 different distros which all have different firing orders. He tells me that its not depentant on the motor in the car it depends on the TD number on the ear of the distributor. Somebody school me on distros here cause I have no idea if that little *** was right or not.

Re: Distributor Help
97 Honda Civic D16y8. its like the most common everything and duder tells me you cant just go pull one from a junk yard cause those TD numbers mean they will have a different fireing order. I know folks have swapped out junk yard distros before and I have never heard of checking that number. Just wanted to know if I learned something or if dude was full of ----,

Re: Distributor Help
i have never heard of that ---- before. I never seen one other than the standard 1432? But I have worked primarily on EF's and EG's and older accords.
But there is only one ECU for that motor, with diffent timing setting's you would think there would be a diffence in the ecu programming. i call bullshit. I think he was too stupid to figure out which model civic you had.
When I go to AutoZone tonite I will look into that for you.

Re: Distributor Help
Well I dont know if the dude was full of ---- or not but I swapped out the Dizzy and all my problems are gone. now all I gotta do is find me a fuse box local.
Anybody got a fuse box they wanna get rid of? D16y8 or underhood fusebox for a 97 EX Civic.

But ors are basically the same, EF+EG for the win. If I aint mistaken someone on here or hondaswap was parting one out. It was prolly a EG though.
