Default Did a compression test today

Well i did a compression test today on my 91 crxsi w/b16 and the results are
180-175-190-180....im planning to turbo it in the near future and, i already started buying stuff for it (intercooler/boostgauge/DIYlogmanifold) so im wondering if my engine is worth turboing right now or should i wait and rebuild it...

and 1 more ? when i was removing the spark plugs caps there was a lil bit of oil on them so i was thinking that maybe the valve cover gaskit was leaking?

so any help would be nice thanks...

the numbers are consistent enough to boost.
dont worry about it.
but, did you test it with the throttle open?

you need the spark plug tube grommets/gakets

no i just pulled all the plugs and screwed in the tester and tried to crank it...
why would you want the throttle open?

Ummm, so the cylinders get a full charge of air... :1 Those numbers are low for a B16 but close enough to boost. Just replace the VC gasket and the spark plug grommets, it's $20.

yeah those look good enough to boost. i did a comp test on my "high" compression gsr not too long ago. the compression is around 11.7:1 and the head is milled .040 so i was told it should be around 230-250psi in each. my results were 160- 173- 184- 197. thought it was funny how they were all diferant and ho wit went up in compression as i went down.

boost that bitch.

try again...
this time pull the ecu fuse and hold the throttle wide open.
you will get better more acurate numbers.

If I'm not mistaken a B16 should be 200-210 ?? But since it's old I wouldn't expect it to be over 200, how many miles on it.
