a friend of mine wants me to do a swap on his 89 crx si. he has a d16a6 in it already and is wanting to put an obd1 d16z6 in it. i was just wondering what kind of wireing will be involved with this. he has the wireing harness and ecu for the obd1 engine. i never crossed the obd lines before but i figure it shouldn't be too hard just use the new harness right?

adapter harness, obd 1 dist, 4 wire o2, rewiring according to adapter harness not diffcult if you have any sense of wiring

ok so i would use his stock wireing? are the dizzy plugs the same for both obd's? and would i have to run wires for the 4 wire 02 sensor?

 

engine harness yes but needs to be modded. Dizzy plugs totally different have to run wires for that. yes you only have a 1 wire o2 in an ef chassis. Best bet is to buy the harness the instructions are staraight forward it would atke a while to tell you everyhting

 

lol, the swap has been put on hold until i can look at the car myself. it was actually a friend of a friend who wanted the swap so i had my friend go over and look at the car lastnight because i had to work. he said it wasn't even an si, the whole car is in pretty bad shape, the wiring harness is cut open and the old motor is taken out but isn't the original motor. so before i give the guy a price i want to go over and look at everything for myself. oh and the engine he wants in it wasn't a d16z6 it is a d15b. my friend said that he didn't see a vtec solinoid on it so i have to find out what d15b it is. i need to go over there and see for myself what kind of engine was in it, ecu in it, what is up with the harness, what kind of new engine it is, and new ecu and what obd the new one is.
