D16Z6 Crank & Rod Bearing Clearances????
---- i lost the repair manual... but i dont think that would help much..... anyways... for turbo applications on a built motor, what are the bearing clearances for the main bearings, and the rod bearings
I have my block and pistons and ---- for my built engine sitting in the garage,,, and i just need these specs so i can start building

Albert, ---- a service manual. They'll give you figures of .007=.013 or some ----. They don't really give you an exact number, just a range of acceptable tolerances. I did my crank and rod bearings .015. A little looser than normal, but definately not too tight is the key.

that scares me.. lol
It scared me too. They give you a range of numbers that are "within tolerances" but with a built motor me and the machine shop decided that a given number on the loose side would be better than being tight whatsoever.
I heard the same thing steve.
Forced induction u want looser tolerances
Nat Aspirated you want tighter.
Look on the crank, you should see castings with #'s. then you'll see some on the block, and on the rods. these all correspond to the chart for colours.
ANY dealership should be able to photocopy you this chart.
