Re:D16Y7 going to be OBD1 what ECU to get?
Y7 is the motor in the 96-00 Civic HX, I believe, it is a SOHC vtec but enviromentally friendly, meaning you get less power, goes down from the 127 of the y8 to 115 I believe. Anyways, If i'm not wrong 96 and up cars are OBD2, So he could go OBD1. I think :-X

Re:D16Y7 going to be OBD1 what ECU to get?
It is an OBD2 non-vtec SOHC engine. I am making a harness to go to OBD1, so that I don't have to be restricted by the second O2 sensor and can change the wiring harness around.

Re:D16Y7 going to be OBD1 what ECU to get?
You are all correct, my Hayes, pep boys manual, says D16y5 Dx, D16y7 Hx and D16y8 Ex. But with a little research on the web I found out the truth, or what you guys were saying. OK. I'm also Planning on making a harness, I found a Conversion Table that tells you wich pin is which on the conversion. It is on their Website, tech section.
http://hasport.com/Tech/Wring/Conver...0OBD2-OBD1.htm This might help you, not sure if you already have this. I looked everywhere and the cheapest already made conversion harness was about $185.00. |
