D16a6 w/ D16z6 VTEC Head into 95 Civic EX Possible???
Since my D16z6 engine is jack up. and i have an extra complete D16a6 engine. I was wondering if I can use the lower block of the D16a6 and the top block from the D16z6 VTEC head and use the existing OBD1 stuff from the D16z6 and switch it over to the D16a6 block. Oh btw, this is going into my 95 Civic EX. You think it would work? Or do i need to buy another D16z6 engine? ----, and would it pass smog if i did this?

Don't think you'll pass the inspection if thats what your worried about Since your swapping in an older block for when they look at the engine code if they do that for you. If it's just a sniffer then you should do fine.

THAT'S COMPLETELY UNHEARD OF!!!!
It will work just fine. Not sure about emissions since I don't have to deal with that ----. :P
Don't forget to take out the oil jet in the A6 block if you use the Z6 head. That'll ruin your day.

Actually the a6 pistons are dished. Maybe not as much as the z6's, but they are still a dished piston. Most d15's that i've seen are flat tops, and a1's/zc's are domed. But i'm sure you already knew that.
