IMO, slap the head on.. I had over 150k on my stock a6 when I put the Z6 head on.

What exactly is mini me? I am guessing it is similar to the LS/VTEC swap except with a d-series non vtec block and a d-series vtec head? If so what kind of combos can you use for this? Seems like this would be a pretty cheap engine to build.

I want to put a custom turbo on my 95 Civic EX, but it's my daily driver and only has 70,000 miles on it and I am sure it has a ton of miles left. I'm just scared I might blow up my D16Z6 since I have never built a turbo before. Would be nice if I could build a cheap second engine I can mess around with and not worry about blowing it up.

Few variants of the Mini-me

D15's (d15b2/b7) w/ Z6 or Y8 Head
D16's (D16a6/y7) w/ Z6 or Y8 Head

Basically putting a Vtec head on a non-vtec block, its nothing to impressive, just a high compression sohc vtec motor. You will roughly get 10.8c/r with the z6 and a bit more with the y8 head.

is it a noticable difference in power in the car with this or should i just save my moneys turbo the D16A6 and when it blows up just get an entire swap.

yup, I would just turbo the a6, and not worry about the z6 head, since turboing a mini-me is a bit tricky compared to boosting a normal A6.

Well, its up to you, how much money do you want to spend?

obviously the best motor would be the Type R, but not everyone has 4 grand.
