I've got an A6 head with some shitty valves, and a bunch of valves from a Z6 in my garage. Can I use the Z6 valves, or do I need to order some new ones?

I've actually used them before, the only problem is that you have to use the a6 valve springs and retainers. You can adjust the rockers just enough to clear, but you'll bottom out the z6 springs on an a6 valve, and will lock the camshaft and do many nasty things. First hand experience on that one, but as long as you use the matching springs it will technicly work.

 

i had a d15 that got a bent valve and i replaced it with a A6 valve and never had a problem again. then i finally found my ***** and just put the whole A6 in.....

Z6/Y7/Y8 have larger valves than the A6/B7
