D16A6 in 93 Civic distributor issues

I have a 93 Civic here was a D15B7 auto car but was in need of a new motor.I had a spare A6 around so naturally i figured i'd slap it in.Just reused all the D15 ---- on it and had to change the thermo fan switch etc to make it work but seamed to go all right until it came to the distributor.I figured I would have to improvise on the mounting a bit to make it work but no biggy. Now Im trying to get this distributor dialed in but I cant seam to have any luck getting it with in running spec.Am I missing something here?I keep rotating it around trying to get it to run smooth but it continues to run like a pile ---- that is majorly out of time.I was pretty beat this evening and just left it for tommorow as maybe I'm just overlooking something simple due to to many late nights in the garage and long days at school.I cant see any reason this combo wont work?

What do you mean by pattern?I dont have my timing gun here otherwise i would check as well to see what im at but it is way out to lunch and i cant get it to run smooth no matter where i postion the dizzy.Im gonna leave it for now i think and deal with it later I have been to tired lately to think clearly as I must be missiing something easy.

You sure its at 32? Pattern I mean it bolts up so there isnt any mods needed to get it onto the head to have the ablitiy to set timing

You are a dumb ----. Cam timing and ignition timing are completely different.

No ---- dumbfuck. But based on this reply:

You don't get it. You can't compensate for your insanely advanced ignition timing by changing your cam timing.

Ignition timing deals with your distributor location in relation to the cam

Cam timing deals with cam location in relation to your crank.

They are NOT the same ::)
