Default d15b vtec crank

ok here is what i want to do, if possible, i have a b2 block and i want to put in the vtec crank and i understand that the jdm d15 uses 1.6 rods, true or not? if so would this be considered a mild stroke

No. The B2 has the same stroke as the D15B VTEC. Changing the rods doesn't change the stroke or displacement. The reason why the D15B uses the D16 rods is so that they could get a better rod stroke ratio out of the short D15 block. The pistons are one of a kind however, since they have a low compression height to accomidate the longer D16 rods. All other pistons would stick out of the block with that combo.

The D15B VTEC has the small main bearings of the D15's and has the larger rod bearings of the D16's.

like he said it will stay a 1.5 five but you have more options on rods. what you should do is get a set of vitaras and see if the fit in there with the d15b crank without sticking out the block
