Default d15b sohc vtec vs. zc

i just bought my second crx, and im am looking to do a motor swap asap. i do not have tons of money to spend tho. im looking to keep my trans, ive come down to 2 choices. the jdm d15b sohc vtec or a zc. they both put out the same hp, and ive riden in cars that had both motors and didnt notice a big difference. im also going to be turbo'ing which ever motor i decide to go with. anyone have experience with both of these motors and care to comment? give me some advice?

i would go with the zc, theres no need to wait for the vtec to kick in, and the zc has more tuning potential due to the fact that it has two seperate cams

d15b w/p28 ecu vs. Blk Top ZC w/zc ecu... Naturally aspirated, the d15b will be quicker & lighter. But boosted, you'd definately have to go with the ZC. Why go through all the hassles of wiring when the ZC will bolt/wire right in. I have a d15b in my 94 civic 2dr w/ i/h/e and I lay the pipe consistently to ZC powered civics/crx's but I would never boost it.

BTW... technically, the ZC has slightly more "Rated" power than the d15b at 132-136hp vs. 123hp for the d15

I have a zc from the research Ive done it has more tunablity with the dual cams also come with larger intake valves which means better flow...A good site to read up on zcs is www.thezcr.com there pretty much deticated to zc swaps

I think it'd be a lot tougher to get parts for the ZC then the d15, but that's justa guess. Good luck with whatever one!

Nah the ZC parts are almost the same as the integra D16A1'a and the D15 vtec is a mix of other D15's and the D16 vtec
