I was gonna go with syncromesh, but from my experience, Honda MTF works a little better.

Re: D-series Vx/Cx tranny noise
It'll cost me $15 in gas (45 mpg is the ----), and 4 hrs round trip, but I guess that's worth it since I've got nothing to do.
I'll get my old tranny in, and send you a message tonight.
Thanks.

Thanks man. Those are the part #s I was searching for.
Took out the "new" tranny and installed the old one by myself. It's really not hard. In fact it's much easier than lifting a damn B series tranny into place.

Re: D-series Vx/Cx tranny noise
Well the old one is now in, and relatively quite like it should be, but sometimes when the shifter is in neutral, and the car is idling w/the ebrake on, it makes a rattling metallic noise on and off. Not every time, usually just when the tranny is cold.
It did this before I ripped the motor/tranny out and installed the pilot/t/o/clutch, and I thought it was the pilot bearing or the t/o, or just something not attached rattling around. What could this strange noise be?
It only does it while idling in neutral, and never when the car is driving. I'm still going to take apart the one tranny I have to replace the ISB to make it a good backup tranny, but I'd like to fix this one too.
Thanks for the help if anyone can give some. This description is probably too vague, so I might just videotape this noise so someone can possible help me.
