d-series tranny

my friend has two d-series trannies for sale but he doesnt know what kind they are, im hoping its the z6 or y8 tranny but i dont know how to identify them. anyway how can i tell what kind they are by looking at them?

Yeah, but depending on if you have a hydro or cable tranny, you need to have a hydro or cable clutch car. OBD0=cable, OBD1 and up = hydro.
