d series oil pump, good mods?

d series oil pump, good mods?
2 things.....first, I took the cover off the pump and didnt mark the gears, flipped it over and they fell out, will it hurt if I put them in not matching the same spot as when they came out? I wouldnt think so since the center one spins one notch per rotation but IDK.
Second, I've heard you can shim a screw to increase oil pressure? I found one writeup but it wasnt very informative, if you have any info or know of any good writeups post em up please.
