Most guys try not to overbore as they don't want to lose anymore of that valuable sleeve. Or for the most part around here spend money.

The stock length d eagle rods are more than strong enough for whatever your doing.

You've read way to much crap online, why would you want to shorten the rod, the rod isn't going to break. I've never heard of an eagle d series rod breaking from long-term fatique. K.I.S.S. is something you really need to think more about. Your going to run into a ton more issues trying to do it the way you want for no real world benefit. And if your dead set on running a shorter rod, then get a set of custom pistons made with the pin moved. I don't see the point of having a custom set of rods made to make up for a set of $100 pistons.

I've not seen any stock rods break in some time, unless the rod bearing locked to the crank and the rod had to bust out of the block. I have seen some pretty pictures of stock D16 rods gone S-shaped after a couple years @ 350 whp.

Makes me wonder what a B16 or LS rod in a D-series would net.

That was 1G-GTE pistons (if you can find them) on B16 rods.

Only stock rods i've seen S shaped were when the bearings came out looking beat to hell, which really makes me question the tune. I've never seen a eagle d series rod come out deformed unless do to a bearing malfunction.

reguardless, no reason for the OP to do what hes thinking of.

I was talking stock rods.

I've pulled Eagles out of dropped valve wreckage where a hole was beat in the top of the piston the size of a quarter. Perfect, undamaged, verified by a machinist who checked them to be true. "They are a copy of the best rod in the world, Carillo," and they are a very good copy at that.
