D series crank swap

have a 92 dx d15b7 long block that is just plain worn out , and going to be acquiring for free also a 98 civic DX motor... d16y7 i think it is.

what are the differences in stroke? and or crank dimensions?

Really now, how do you explain the 97cc's difference in displacement?????

lay off the crank fool!

http://hondaswap.com/reference-mater...ne-list-29128/ So what's the plan trevor? swap in the D16y7?

Re: D series crank swap

my understanding is that d15's and d16's have different deck heights, so longer stoke = more displacement.

why swap cranks, just swap engines

Bone1 10-01-2008 11:50 PM

Re: D series crank swap

how will deck height effect displacement?

People are forgetting the BASICS about engines.

Re: D series crank swap

deck height along with stroke will affect displacement. deck height alone will only reduce compression

Anyone who wants to know about destroked honda oem blocks look at the b16b. Its a bad mofo just a forgotten motor

Re: D series crank swap

detroked big bore FTW, too bad the theory can't really apply to the D's in full force unless you sleeve and go really big bore.

back on topic.... I'm just trying to make something out of nothing. If i can make a running motor, I can pull the other z6 out of the white honda for spare. Thats all. Or a 7:1 stock D candidate for some 15# back and forth rippers till she blows.

D16y7 is free it was run out of oil and knocks

i love when people steal my broken ----. just means i don't have to post it for free on craigslist.
sorry about your loss though.

just watch out about leaving other ---- laying around. If they stole ur knockin motor, they're gonna be unhappy and might come back for something else. But it is kinda funny when dumbasses steal ---- that doesn't work.
They risk getting shot for ---- they don't even know about :1
