D seires Rods...? what will fit
 

Ok so monday night, im tuning my car at the races, and i ran it one good time, and boom, i heard it go, it would stil drive, but not far enough, i burnt the rings out of my backup motor on monday night and i have a set of d16z6 rods and pistons in great shape, but im not sure if theyll fit on my d16a6 crankshaft, i know they wont fit on my d15b2 crank. so does anyone know if Z6 rods will fit on a A6 crankshaft?

yeah they fit... all d-series 1.6 is the same from the 88 d16a1/dohc zc to the 2000 d16y8

are you sure, because the bottom of the rods were too big to fit on the d15b2, so you think that theyll fit on the d16?

They should work, just make sure your bearings are sized correctly when you put them on the other crank. D-series are much like B-series in a sense that they have a lot of interchangeable parts.

Dude I told u that they will fit but no u have to ask everyone...hahah thats cool..but yeah ben u have fried to d-series engines now, u are a d-series killer yo...that is because u are running some ghetto rigs but i have to hand it to u, u do not give up very easily...see ya, oh yeah that was a kick ass party last night boy.. ;D

rods out of the a20a 1986-89 accord are the same length width and inner diamter as a stock ls rods. with only one small difference. the wrist pins are 19mm like a d series, not 21mm like the ls and b series with a tiny bit of machining you should be able to narrow a a20a rod and have it hold the 300hp ive made. theres a guy in jersey running 10.89 on a set of stock a20a rods.

What do you narrow, which end? I've got like three of these motors @ my junkyard. ??? A20a3, is that the full engine code?

My rigged up set-up hasn't let me down yet, but low compression doesn't hurt ;D

a20a rods? dude! Let me know if u find out what needs to be done to the rods to make em' fit the d16a6. There's probably like 20 of them sittin in a junkyard near me...guy sells complete motors for like 50 bux! ;D

Yes a20 rods are very beefy, but i'm pretty sure they are 20mm wrist pins not 19mm.... there was a discussion about this on Honda-tech a week or so ago

Well, somebody find out what the deal is with these rods...i don't wanna go to the boneyard and pull 20 motors and find out the wristpins are a different size. That would blow big time. Please, keep me posted. If they are the same size, i'll see what i can do for u guys, ok?
