Ok so monday night, im tuning my car at the races, and i ran it one good time, and boom, i heard it go, it would stil drive, but not far enough, i burnt the rings out of my backup motor on monday night and i have a set of d16z6 rods and pistons in great shape, but im not sure if theyll fit on my d16a6 crankshaft, i know they wont fit on my d15b2 crank. so does anyone know if Z6 rods will fit on a A6 crankshaft?

 

yeah they fit... all d-series 1.6 is the same from the 88 d16a1/dohc zc to the 2000 d16y8

 

are you sure, because the bottom of the rods were too big to fit on the d15b2, so you think that theyll fit on the d16?

 

They should work, just make sure your bearings are sized correctly when you put them on the other crank. D-series are much like B-series in a sense that they have a lot of interchangeable parts.

so the rods and pistons from a D15 wll not fit one for a D16 ?

 

pistons will fit, but rod's won't

 

rods out of the a20a 1986-89 accord are the same length width and inner diamter as a stock ls rods. with only one small difference. the wrist pins are 19mm like a d series, not 21mm like the ls and b series with a tiny bit of machining you should be able to narrow a a20a rod and have it hold the 300hp ive made. theres a guy in jersey running 10.89 on a set of stock a20a rods.

 

What do you narrow, which end? I've got like three of these motors @ my junkyard. A20a3, is that the full engine code?
