I don't know dizzy's very well, I'm working on a distributor problem in my b16 right now. I would wait for someone who actually knows something to come and answer your question, I'm just a dumb kid.

I think that if you have the distributor you should try it. It wouldn't take more than half an hour to switch out the distributors for a test.

Re:Cuts out

as it turns out, i can't get that distributor to work in the car... the best i could do is when it turnes over once and dies... i tried all kinds of wiring combos, but didn't work. Oh, by the way, the car started to do the same thing again!!! this sux... i was told by someone at a dealership which i called to get some prices that it might be the 'ignitor'??? what is an ignitor?? I also found out that a new dizzy for the a6 costs $618 or so... unbeliable! Let me reiterate what happens with the car because it is a little diffrent than before. i can drive it and what not but only if i bearly push the throttle. if i even give it 25%, it bogs down and the rpms go all crazy and if i hold the accaleratoer down for more than 2 seconds i can hear it backfire. also, if it ever makes it up to 3000 rpms, it really starts to pull right at that point!!! then it starts bouncing... i've put in only the cap and rotor and those didnt' help at all. well, any info on the bouncing tech would be appreciated and is really needed before i go and spend the 100$ the dealership wants for the ignitor tomorrow morning.
