custom spings in coilovers?
Ok so I've got a set of cheapo E=bay coilovers. The springs in them are ------- too stiff, but there's nothing wrong with the perches. So I was thinking of using the perches with custom springs of similar size and less of a spring rate.
Maybe like these K-sport universal springs?

Re: custom spings in coilovers?
The sleeves crack? Is that because the sleeve sits uneven because of the bottom perch on the strut being uneven to accomodate the spring. If you could find something to put on the strut to level the perch for the spring, you think that would prevent cracking?

I don't agree. I've had cheap coilovers on a few cars now, and only one had a crack, and that was probably b/c the car was stolen right before I bought it (had dents all over the underside of the car). I don't know if I would go with ksport springs through. They don't seem to be the best brand out there (though i did love the ksports I had on my teg).

I did what you're talking about. Cheapest ebay coilovers and Afco springs with my own rates. Cheap and easy. I doubt the sleeve will crack. I've taken some massive potholes and mine are holding up just fine. I'll inspect them once every few weeks just in case, though.
