crx.. intermitent battery/charging/alternator problems..
so i finally got my ---- sorted out on the rex.. and got it driving condition the other day.. drove it for a good hundred miles or so then went home and parked it.. decided to drive it into work.. so on the way to work it decides to die.. the lights on the dash went dim just before it died.. then it just died.. and it was like a dead battery.. click click then no clicks and no start.. then randomly after waiting for a while it started up and drove to work fine.. then last night at work on shift i got in the car to see if it would start.. and it did.. drove it arround the parking lot then parked it.. then saw lights slowly dim.. just like a dying battery... then the car dies.. and wont start up again.. just like a dead battery.. leave it for the morning when i get off shift.. jumped in the car.. and it turned on fine.. managed to drive it all the way home.. with no problems.. got home.. popped the hood.. and checked all wires too and from battery/starter/ground.. but when i went and touched the alternator that ****** was HOTTTTTT
the battery is brand new.. but its too big for the rex.. i thought at first the battery was moving arround.. but i tightend it down and it still did it in the hotel parking lot.. and now the alternator is hot as hell.. like ironing iron HOTTT
i got the big *** battery out the car.. and im going to exchange it for the right size battery (they gave me the big one temporarily...)
could my problem just be that the battery is bigger? too much juice? i remember running big batteries in my wagovan with no problems.. and the car drove fine for over a hundred miles with no problems
