Honestly don't pay $450 for an LS motor its not worth it...you don't need "hasport mounts" there are a lot of knock off mounts that are just as good for 1/2 the price i'm rocking the arizona race tech mounts and lnkage and they are awesome and are a lot less money...full poly mounts will make the car vibrate bad too...you can get rubber mounts in the FS section here from one of the vendors for $155 shipped i think and they will make the car a better DD...

Just get 90-93 teg axles from a local auto parts store

you want rad hose from a sir del sol, the 90 teg hose is a little bigger than the civic/crx rad so it will need clamped down, the sir hose is smaller on the rad side so it fits correctly...oh and make sure you know what year the tranny is that you get because 90-91 and 92+ use a different clutch disk

Okay looks like the final results are in. I took your advice and didn't buy the B18B long block. I did however find, 2 hours later, a 1991 Acura Integra LS (complete with engine, transmission, axles blah blah everything in perfect condition) for $1000. So that and the 1988 CRX Si together for $1500... Now I just need tools and I'm ready to set to work. Thanks again fellas.

you'll still need mounts for the motor and the linkage from the teg will need to be cut and welded, I'm glad you didn't by the one fore $450,good luck and get us some pics

I'm planning on posting pics, both before and after. I was planning on just buying a custom linkage from HASport along with their billet mounts and wire harness. I know it's expensive but I'm new to this. I have ehard about the vibration issues with the HASport billets though so is there a better set of mounts I should be using?

Well with any Poly mounts they are going to be stiffer and the motrs vibration needs to go somewhere usually the rubber mounts allow for less vibration. I have heard good things about the set in the FS thread sticky's that are rubber for $155 shipped and you can't beat the price...as for wire harness just use the stock crx si harness thats all I used and everything will plug in properly too...linkage thats you choice I don't think you can get the hasport without buying them with the mounts but I have the AZ race tech and its rock solid :y but you can always use the teg linkage cut it and re-weld it or have someone weld it for you

What are b18a/b's going for nowadays?? I thought that 1k was a little high, but it also seems that those cable trannys are becoming hard to find. I bought a b18b w/ecu for $600 here in upstate ny. I thought that was a pretty good deal. The key is to find the junkyards with workers with the fewest teeth. works every time.... :6

Re: CRX 88 Si B16 or B18B

Well it all depends on what car and who you know...EFs seem to cost a more for any swap because of the mounts and linkage...Any B tranny is going to be expensive they are just hard to come by in general hydro or cable...1K for a teg isn't bad espcially if he parts out the rest he willg et his money out of it...I get B18a for $100 or so...

I have an obd0 pr4 ecu if you want it...lemme know ;) As for the hasport mounts and vibration, yes...they do vibrate for a little while, but once the poly breaks in it goes away. My hasports give me almost no vibration at all now, after about 4 or 5 months of use. Their linkage is nice too...def. made my life a whole lot easier with the swap :y
