crvtec

im geting a 98 crv from my folks and i want to know what my power gains would be if i put on a 1.6 vtec head.

i know there is alot of car there to haul around could i get away with a b16 swap alone? im not thinkin there is not enough torque there.

Re:crvtec

a crvtec would be nice in a crv, but it will take a little bit of work. i have a 1st-gen b16a head for sale if you are serious.
crvtec.com, etc will have info about the hybrid.

Re:crvtec

AH THOSE THINGS ARE SH!TTY! You should just put the B16 in there and let me have the entire B20 block! :P

Torque envy makes you do stupid sh!t

Re:crvtec

you tricked me there, crvtec.com isn't a helpful site, it's just a search engine that wants me to buy ----. and while I was at it lsvtec.com doesn't work.

Re:crvtec

CRVtec is the same as lsvtec w/ more tq. One thing i have been pondering lately is, since the b20 engine has a larger bore and the head comb chamber matches the bore what happens when you put on a head meant for a 81mm bore w/ a 84mm piston!

Re:crvtec

i think all of you miss the point that he's gettin a whole crv, not just an engine ::) 90civicdx: you will gain some good h.p. if you put a b16 head on it, but you also have to get a new ecu and go about prepping the block and head just like you would for an ls/vtec, in my opinion, it's not worth it for a crv, it's not meant to be fast, and it prolly still wouldn't be if you did this. just sell it and get something else if you want a fast honda, if not, just put an xbox in that mother fukcer and pimp it ;D

i don't know, i've never thought about that, but it obviously is no problem, because it works fine ;) i don't think it would matter unless you didn't have enough piston to head clearance ???

Re:crvtec

sorry, kyle, i didn't mean to send you to a bullshit search page. abaZ built a crvtec, so maybe you should ask him. if i were you i would try it, because it is different. i have never heard of someone with a crvtec CRV. it will take some work and $$ but if done right you will have an original ride, which you can then pimp out. it could get suspension and wheel upgrades along with the vtec conversion and next thing you know its a pimp ride.

hmm.... a boosted CRVtec in a CRV.....4 wheel drive....hmmm....

Re:crvtec

not all crvs are 4wheel drive. I have a playstation in my civic, it's not all that cool, it gets hard to drive while playing.

Re:crvtec

and the RWD portion is weak as hell.. i think only 25% of the power actually goes to the rear wheels.

Re:crvtec

if i remember right it is the same way with the civic wagon w/ all-wheel-drive....something like 25-30% of the power goes to the back wheels. havent those held up with some decent power? ill probably get flamed now.

Re:crvtec

The crv isnt 4 wheel drive. It has real time 4 wheel drive. Not the same at all. Its pretty dope though. Someone should see if they could fit the realtime on there civic. They do use the same frame, if your good at fabbing it shouldnt take tooo much work. I like the real time a lot, my pops has a crv and its pretty nice when you take off then the wheels on squeel for a sec and then the rear wheels cut on and send you on.
