Re:crower d16 rods...notch the block?
what kind of hp can the econo ones take?...looking at side by-side shots i think they would fit....i am kindof partial to leaving the crank and everything intact on this block, so if i can get around notching it id be happy...thanks for the info jeff

Yes, notching will be needed. It isn't all that complicated if you plan on taking the whole block apart. :P Crower Econo and Eagle ESP rods are both made in tawain. (I think they are the same product purchased from different companies)But, Crower makes a note to say, "the final machining is done here, by crower. :P Crower claims these rods can hold up to 20psi and 5 or 600 horespower. I'm going to be using the eagles, and I think they are overkill for most hmt setups, so I am confident.

I don't know if they are the same, I just assumed because when you read the add on crower's site, it says, "these rods are made in taiwan, just like the eagle's" sounds like they would be ordering them from the same joint, but I never did a side by side. Call endyne. That dude will know, but I'd bet you have to notch. :P

yea i notched the block i have now, but apparently i didnt smooth it out enough where it tapers back, plus a little more honing was necessary to clean it up...i would have fixed that and slapped it back together, but i came across this new short block and i want to get around notching it if i can, ya now...btw, endyn is where i looked at the side by side, ill call them on monday
